VISA INFORMATION
When planning to attend a trade exhibition in Vietnam, it is important for international business visitors, exhibitors and guests to understand the visa/entry rules. Below is an overview of the current visa policy, including visa exemption, e-visa, key conditions, and practical tips.
1. Visa Exemption for Citizens of Certain Countries
Vietnam has introduced an exemption for citizens of 12 countries under Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP (issued 7 March 2025).
- The 12 countries are: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
- The exemption allows persons holding ordinary passports from these countries to enter without a visa for up to 45 days from date of entry, for any purpose (including business or visiting) provided they meet normal entry conditions.
- The policy is valid from 15 March 2025 to 14 March 2028 and may be reviewed or extended.
- Note: Even if you are from one of these countries, you must still meet entry requirements (valid passport, appropriate travel purpose, etc.).
Implication for Exhibitors/Visitors:
If you are a citizen of one of the 12 countries listed, you may enter Vietnam without obtaining a visa in advance for a stay of up to 45 days—perfect for a short-term business trip to Coatings Expo Vietnam 2026. For all others, you will need to apply for a visa or e-visa (see below).
2. Electronic Visa (E-Visa) System
Vietnam provides an online electronic visa (e-visa) system that simplifies the application process for foreigners.
- Official portal: https://evisa.gov.vn/
- The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days, and can be single-entry or multiple-entry.
- Fee: USD 25 for single entry or USD 50 for multiple entry.
- Apply online, pay electronically, and receive approval before travel. On arrival, present the printed e-visa along with your valid passport.
- The e-visa is accepted at most international airports, seaports, and land border checkpoints (see list on the official portal).
- Applicants must apply from outside Vietnam before entry.
Implication for Exhibitors/Visitors:
If your nationality is not among the 12 visa-exempt countries, you should apply for an e-visa well in advance of your trip to Coatings Expo Vietnam 2026. Choose the correct entry point and validity period, and print your e-visa approval letter for immigration clearance.
3. General Entry Conditions & Travel Tips
- Passport validity: Minimum six months beyond the departure date.
- Port of entry: Enter through the same point specified in your e-visa.
- Overstay: Exceeding your permitted stay may result in fines or departure delays.
- Purpose of stay: If you intend to work or conduct long-term business, you may need a different visa category.
- Business participation: A visitor/business e-visa is sufficient to attend exhibitions, trade meetings, or short-term business activities.
Always verify the latest information on the Vietnam Immigration Department or official e-visa portal before travelling.
We strongly recommend all foreign exhibitors and visitors to Coatings Expo Vietnam 2026 to check their visa status and apply as required before travel. By arranging your visa in advance, you can focus fully on exploring new business opportunities and connecting with partners in Vietnam’s coatings and printing ink industry.
